Desilter

Desilters/desilter units are used to improve the cleaning performance of standard desanding plants with their main cyclone. The desilter unit comprises multiple small cyclones that achieve a pre-defined capacity when connected together. The cut point of the standard 4” cyclone is d50 = 20µm.

After pre-cleaning by the main cyclone, the slurry is fed into a slurry tank. From there, it is pumped into the desilter unit via a feed pump and undergoes final cleaning there. This fully cleaned slurry is fed into a downstream slurry tank via the cyclone overflow and supplied there for further use. The enriched slurry with separated solids from the underflow of the cyclones (main cyclone and desilter unit) is fed onto a shared dewatering screen, where it is dewatered and removed when dry.
